While you are staying with us your safety and relaxation are our highest priority. We want to assure you that while we are always deeply committed to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our guestrooms, spa, and common spaces, we are taking extra precautions to ease your concerns surrounding COVID-19. Our executive team has invested countless hours speaking with medical professionals and participating in task force seminars, to develop a program that is focused on providing our valued guests with the same level of luxury this season, in a safe environment. It is of the utmost importance to our team, that we are providing you with a safe haven at the shore – let us be your home away from home.
Every touchpoint of our guest journey has been carefully examined and reimagined. Following the State and Local guidelines, we have developed a plan that is compliant and safe for all guests, from the moment of arrival and beyond. Let us take you through your journey at The Reeds, step by step.
When you arrive at The Reeds valet area, at the corner of 3rd Avenue and 97th Street, you will be greeted by one of our parking professionals who will be wearing a mask. After sanitizing their hands, the attendant will offer to remove the luggage from your car and transport it to the hotel lobby. You will then be directed to our private and secure self-park lot on 97th Street, and be welcomed by an attendant for access. If you would like to transport your own luggage after parking, the attendant will be happy to provide you a sanitized cart for your belongings. Please remember that we can only accommodate one car per room.
Check in time will be a breeze. We request that you and your family wear masks, while inside our common areas at all times. If you do not have one, it will be provided. When you approach the front desk, there will be plexiglass between you and our Front Desk agent, who will also be wearing a mask. If you have preregistered prior to arrival, all you will need to do is sign the virtual registration form on an Ipad, with a disposable screen cover, show ID, and collect your room keys. We ask that if there is a guest in front of you, that you stand 6 feet behind them until it is your turn. After you check in, you will be directed to the elevator, where you will see a sanitizing station. We ask that you use it, prior to pushing any buttons. Elevators will be cleaned every hour, and monitored and limited to one guestroom group at a time. You are also welcome to use the staircase, if you prefer.
The guestroom experience at The Reeds is a great place for you and your family. When entering your room, take off your masks and breathe freely. All guestrooms are cleaned with products sourced by global health authorities, including products like Air Spray N Go and Telex Hard Surface cleaners. A complete list of all the products we use, for your protection, is available upon request. There is a keen focus on high touch surfaces, including television remote controls, toilet seats and handles, door and furniture handles, shower and water faucet handles, nightstands, telephones, light switches, and temperature control panels.
Let’s talk about bedding. We provide our guests with luxurious Frette linens, the highest quality sheets available. We have our own private laundry facility to care for them. Everything on your bed is washed with proper detergent, and handled with care after each use. We are pleased to say that this has been our standard since opening in 2013.
We have modified our guestrooms slightly by removing any unnecessary plush décor, kitchenware from the suites (that can be provided upon request), and floor runners. This is in an effort to reveal surfaces like hardwood floors that can be properly cleaned and sanitized.
In your room, we suggest that you fill out the door hanger requesting or rejecting daily housekeeping and turn down service. If you reject the service, we will bring a bag of cleaning materials to your room and hang it at your door. If you would like our usual level of service, please know that attendants will only come into your room with a mask, and when it is vacant. If you are in the room, we will return at time that is convenient for you. If you have any maintenance calls, for anything in your room, guests are free to coordinate a time with the Front Desk for service.
During your stay, there are many ways to enjoy your seaside vacation. You can choose to rest in your room, soaking in the sea breezes from your window or balcony, while streaming Netflix and indulging in an elevated room service program OR enjoy the best of the shore with outdoor living and activities… it’s up to you!
Beach Leisure: There is no better way to social distance, than on the beach with fresh salt air. We will coordinate your GEM car trip to the beach so that you will ride with your family unit only. Please remember to be patient as these protective measures may impact the typical speed of this service. The driver will be wearing a mask, and we request that you do so as well. When you arrive at the beach, you will be greeted by our beach butlers, who will properly position your chairs, umbrella, and towels, at a minimum of 6 feet apart from other setups. All your beach supplies are thoroughly sanitized each night, and aired for 48 hours before being redistributed. If you want to stay on the beach all day, the butlers will come around to take orders and deliver lunch to your chair!
Dining Out: Until we receive approval to open our outdoor dining areas, please know that there are wonderful to-go options from Buckets Margarita Bar and Cantina, Stone Harbor Pizza Pub now and Water Star Grille starting June 1st. You can grab to-go food and drinks from any of these restaurants or you can order from our extensive room service menu. No matter what you have in mind, we have you covered.
For the summer, we are very fortunate at The Reeds to have not one, not two, but three outdoor dining experiences. This year more than ever, is the perfect time to enjoy our waterside dining at Buckets Margarita Bar and Cantina, Stone Harbor Pizza Pub and Water Star Grille. All social distancing guidelines will be in effect, including properly distanced tables, reservations for staggered seating, and paperless menu technology. Guests are able to pay their bills on their own phones. Although guests are not required to wear masks while dining or enjoying a cocktail, please remember that social distancing is a priority. When indoor dining is allowed in the State of New Jersey, the same social distancing protocols will be in effect.
Morning Yoga: Due to popular demand, this program will continue this season, daily on the Roof Garden beginning on June 26th at 8 am. We encourage up to 15 guests to join Amy Sue, of Sol Luna Studios, each morning for a bay breeze yoga session. All mats will be properly spaced six feet apart, and personally sanitized before and after each use. If guests prefer to join the yoga class from the comfort of their room, they can request a yoga mat from the Front Desk and stream live classes.
Bay Activities: Whether it’s a kayak, or a stand-up paddleboard, we have many options for you to enjoy from our docks. Please contact the concierge to schedule your time on our beautiful Shelter Haven basin.
Stone Harbor Golf: The Reeds has partnered with Stone Harbor Golf Club, for exclusive guest access. Tee-times can be arranged before you arrive or throughout your stay with our concierge services.
Beyond the Beach: We know that connecting with nature is a great way to enjoy our area. Please contact our concierge to arrange a time for us to take you to one of Stone Harbor’s parks or outdoor sanctuaries to explore nature beyond the beach. This service is by appointment only.
SALT Spa: It is time for stress to take a back seat and for you to pamper yourself in relaxation. Once we have received the New Jersey State guidelines, we plan to have a full-service spa experience available for you this summer. Please know that all spa attendants, receptionists, therapists, stylist and guests alike will be required to wear masks, and/or shields. If you do not have one, it will be provided for you. Whether you are finally getting that much needed pedicure, cut and color, or massage, you can relax knowing that safely measures and precautions are being implemented by our accredited spa professionals. Not only has the spa been altered, with reduced seating throughout, sanitizing stations and heightened standards have been introduced. Ample time has been added between services that will enable us to deeply clean and sanitize before each new treatment. During this time away, all of our dedicated therapists have been furthering their education and participating in spa safety training sessions. Please call the Salt Spa for more details or to talk to one of our spa professionals.
Fitness: The Reeds Fitness Center has been thoroughly sanitized, and some equipment has been disabled/removed to create safe spacing between machines. If you are looking to use the fitness center during your stay, please reserve your 45-minute time slot with the concierge. Up to 3 people will be permitted in this space at one time. This area will be fully sanitized every hour, by one of our housekeeping attendants.
Pool: Our pool is boutique in size, and this amenity will be carefully controlled. We would love for our guests to enjoy this space, when allowed by the Governor, by reserving 90-minute time slots with our concierge team from 9 am – 4 pm daily. We will be allowing up to 6 people in the pool/hot tub area at one time. Please call the concierge upon check in to schedule your pool time!
When it is time to leave us, you are able to check out from the comfort of your room with TV technology. Keys can be left in your room. It is important to know that while we generally try to honor early check-in and late check out requests, this season we are asking that you adhere to the 3 pm check-in and 11 am check out. This will allow us to have ample time to clean/air out the rooms prior to the next stay. If you arrive in Stone Harbor early, or choose to depart after checking out, we are requesting that you store your luggage in your vehicle. For your protection, there will be no luggage storage on location.
Your health and the safety of our team is our highest priority. We have hired a Safety and Compliance Manager to maintain and enforce all health and safety guidelines across the property. All employees will be screened at the start of their shifts, and ensure that they have the proper safely equipment to engage with our guests. In addition, employees will also be asked to self-monitor and to engage in periodic testing.
All public spaces are receiving rigorous and frequent cleaning, multiple times a day. We have increased the number of housekeeping staff on duty at any one time, to accomplish this goal. Placement of additional hand sanitizing stations throughout public spaces, as well as the back of the house, will provide for the convenience and safely of our guests and team members.
As changes occur with new directives from our State and Municipal leaders, we will continue to keep you, our valued guests informed.
