As has always been the case, your safety and relaxation are our highest priority throughout your stay. We are deeply committed to exceptional standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our guestrooms, spa, and shared spaces, and we are taking extra precautions to ease your concerns surrounding COVID-19.
Our executive team has invested countless hours participating in task force seminars and consulting with medical professionals. So, before you dive into your highly anticipated beach days & sunset strolls, let us assure you that every touchpoint of our guest journey remains as luxurious as you remember, but also incorporates all State and Local safety guidelines.
Our team is excited to share a renewed guest experience that features all you’ve grown to love about The Reeds, from the diverse dining destinations to the unparalleled amenities, complemented by enhanced safety and cleaning protocols to ensure the safety of our hotel guests, team, and community alike.

Here is a glimpse into what your experience at The Reeds will look like this summer:
Skip the metered parking and head straight to our Valet Attendant on the corner of 3rd Avenue and 97th Street, where a member of our team will greet you. You’ll notice that this year, these friendly faces will be wearing protective masks and regularly sanitizing their hands between interactions to ensure your utmost safety, including before they offer to unload your luggage and deliver it to the Front Desk on your behalf. From here, our team will direct you to our private & secure parking area, just a block down 97th Street, where another welcoming attendant will grant you access. If you’ve opted to transport your own luggage to The Reeds, this attendant will be happy to provide a sanitized cart to ease your effort. Please note that one parking space is included in your guestroom stay, and we are unable to accommodate additional vehicles.
After your quick stroll to The Reeds, please stop by our Front Desk so that we can complete your check-in and registration process. We kindly request that each member of your family wear a mask while enjoying our shared spaces. Should you require one, our team would be happy to provide one. You’ll notice that this year a plexiglass window will separate you from our Front Desk agents, who will also be wearing protective facial coverings. Should a fellow guest be completing their check-in, we ask that you remain 6 feet away until their registration is complete.
If you completed the preregistration process, showing your photo ID and providing your signature on our regularly sanitized & encrypted iPad will complete your check-in process. With your credit card information on file, you will be able to charge any Reeds Resort dining experiences to your house account throughout your stay. Should you need further assistance with this process, or if you would like to update the card on file at any time, our Front Desk team would be happy to assist you.
Once these simple steps are complete, the keys to your room will officially unlock your ultimate seaside escape. Our team will direct you to the elevator, now equipped with a sanitizing station. Please take advantage of this sanitizer before operating the lift or selecting your floor. Only one guestroom group is permitted to utilize the elevator at any one time, a policy that we will closely monitor. Our professional housekeepers will be sanitizing the elevators hourly. We welcome you to use the stairwell if you prefer.
Once you’ve arrived in your luxurious guestroom, breathe the seaside air freely & deeply. Our housekeeping team utilizes products approved by global health authorities, including Air Spray N Go and Telex Hard Surface cleaners. Further, this team will only enter your guestroom to complete our cleaning procedure when it is vacant and will always wear a protective mask while inside.
The keen focuses of our Housekeeping Team include:
- High-touch guestroom surfaces such as remote controls & telephones, door, furniture & restroom handles, thermostat panels & light switches, and nightstands receive consistent sanitation.
- Our luxurious Frette linens are the highest quality sheets available, and since 2013, we’ve made it a priority to care for our bedding above and beyond the industry standard. After every use, we wash each piece of linen at our private laundry using great care and best-in-class detergents.
- We’ve placed decorative plush décor, kitchenware, floor runners, and other items from our guestrooms in safe storage to reveal the stunning hardwood floors, ensuring proper cleaning and sanitation. Should you require something we’ve removed, we’re happy to help upon request.
Customize your housekeeping experience. If you prefer not to have your room regularly serviced, please contact the front desk or place the Do Not Disturb tag on your door through the duration of your stay. This will inform our housekeeping team to leave a personal supply of cleaning products and linens at your door in place of daily housekeeping and turn-down services. Finally, if you’d like more information, a full list of cleaning and sanitation products, or to schedule a housekeeping or maintenance visit to your room, we welcome you to communicate with our Front Desk team at any time.
One thing that hasn’t changed about Stone Harbor: the expansive list of activities and experiences that you can enjoy throughout your stay at The Reeds! From binging your latest Netflix obsession from the comfort of your guestroom while indulging in our elevated room service experience or soaking up the sun with bay activities, beach service, or yoga, there is a perfect way to spend every day for everyone.
Beach Leisure: Salt air has been a remedy for ailments of mind, body, and soul for all time, so what better way to social distance this summer than a lazy beach day? As with our elevators, our GEM car transportation to the beach will allow only one reservation group per trip for your safety.
Please be patient with our team and each other, as these protective measures may impact this amenity’s typical speed. While transporting you to and from the beach, our drivers will be wearing masks. We ask that you do so, as well. Our Beach Butlers will greet you upon arrival before setting up your chairs, umbrellas, and towels a minimum of 6 feet from other groups. All beach supplies are thoroughly sanitized nightly and aired for 48 hours before being redistributed. If you plan to soak up the sun all day, our Beach Butlers will be happy to take your lunch order & deliver your beach eats to your chair.
Bayfront Dining: Water Star Grille, Buckets Margarita Bar and Cantina, and Stone Harbor Pizza Pub are open for bayfront deck-dining daily, along with take-out & room service options from all three delectable restaurants.
Our unparalleled bayfront dining destinations are more enjoyable than ever this year, with inspired cuisine, stunning sunset views, and housemade cocktails complemented by the implementation of all state and local safety guidelines.
Beyond our existing outdoor environment, we will be strictly adhering to all distancing recommendations, including properly distanced tables and staggered seatings. We’ll encourage guests to view menus and complete payment from their own electronics with our new paperless technology, elevate our sanitation & cleanliness protocols, and display our commitment to safety by requiring our team to wear protective masks. We will not mandate that guests wear masks while dining or sipping cocktails, but will be closely monitoring all guest interactions and ask that everyone be respectful of our safe distancing protocols and one another. All of the same protocols will apply to our dining rooms when guidelines permit indoor-dining in the state of New Jersey once again.
Dock & Dine: For non-hotel guests, and those guests who choose to charter a boat while staying in Stone Harbor, all three of our bayfront dining venues offer dockside to-go. Call ahead to place your order after viewing our online menus for speedy pick-up when you arrive at our slip.
Morning Yoga: Due to popular demand, this program will continue this season, daily on the Roof Garden beginning on June 26th at 8 am. Amy Sue of Sol Luna Studios returns to the bayfront Roof Garden to provide a gentle morning yoga session for up to 15 guests. All mats will be six feet apart and sanitized before and after each use. If you prefer to stretch in the privacy of your guestroom, these classes will be live-streamed, and our Front Desk will be glad to deliver a sanitized yoga mat to your door.
Bay Activities: Kayak or paddleboard the day away on the Shelter Haven Basin. Please contact our Concierge Team to reserve a launch time from our private docks. We will sanitize all equipment between uses, and our Dock Hands will be wearing masks for your safety.
Stone Harbor Golf: Starting July 1st, utilize our exclusive guest access at Stone Harbor Golf Club by arranging a tee time with our Concierge Team either before or during your stay.
Beyond the Beach: Reconnect with nature by taking advantage of the many parks and bird sanctuaries throughout Seven Mile Island. Contact our Front Desk to make an appointment for a private GEM Car tour led by an experienced member of our team who will help you explore the island from a local perspective.
Salt Spa: Inhale the salt air, exhale your stress – it’s time to relax at the safe & luxurious Salt Spa. We will offer a full-service spa experience this summer, complete with a highly-trained team of spa attendants, receptionists, therapists, and stylists, all of whom will wear protective masks and/or shields. Please note that we are unable to offer Couples & Group services at this time based on current State guidelines. We kindly ask that our guests wear a mask while in shared spaces, including the lobby, locker rooms, and relaxation lounge. Should you require a facial covering, our team will be happy to provide one. Whether finally refreshing your cut, color, and manicure or easing your tension with a relaxing massage, you can be confident that all safety measures and procedures are being implemented by our accredited team, including:
- Scheduling of extended spacing between clients to ensure ample time for thorough cleaning & sanitation.
- Reduction of seating throughout all shared spaces and lounges.
- Implementation of proper distancing protocols between all manicure, pedicure, and styling stations.
- Installation of sanitation stations throughout all spaces.

Fitness: Some of our equipment has been removed or disabled to ensure proper distancing, and all remaining systems receive thorough sanitation every hour by our professional Housekeeping Team. Should you seek to work on your fitness goals throughout your stay, please contact our Concierge Team to reserve a 45-minute time-slot. The Fitness Center can accommodate up to 3 guests at any one time.
Pool: Our pool is boutique in size and requires careful oversight by our team. Please enjoy this space for sunbathing and mid-day dips by reserving 90-minute time slots with our Concierge Team. The pool & hot-tub area is open daily from 9 am – 4 pm daily and can accommodate up to 6 people at one time.
All good things must come to an end, and when your vacation has come to an end, we’ve enabled convenient digital check-out from your guestroom television. Leave your keys in your guestroom, and you’re ready to go – though we hope you’ll return soon!
While we always do our best to honor early check-in and late check-out requests, this season, we ask that guests adhere to our 3 pm check-in and 11 am check-out times this summer to ensure our team has ample time to prepare your guestroom. Should you arrive in Stone Harbor early, or decide to spend the day around town after check-out, we kindly request that you store your luggage in your vehicle, as we will not offer on-site luggage storage, for your safety.
To further our commitment to your health and safety, we’ve expanded our diligent and highly trained team to include a Safety and Compliance Manager whose sole focus is to maintain and enforce all health and safety guidelines across the property. All employees undergo a screening process at the start of their shift to ensure they are safely & adequately outfitted to engage with our guests, in addition to rigorous self-monitoring and periodic testing.
Please be aware that rigorous cleaning and sanitation is the priority of our expanded Housekeeping Team, with an increased staffing level at all times. And finally, know that sanitizing stations are available throughout the hotel, spa, dining destinations, and shared spaces, including the back-of-house areas for our team.
